Youngryel Ryu

Youngryel Ryu

Youngryel Ryu is a Professor at Seoul National University, where he leads the Ecological Sensing AI Lab. He earned his B.S. and MCP degrees at Seoul National University, then completed a Ph.D. in Biometeorology at the University of California, Berkeley in 2010. Before joining SNU's faculty in 2011, he completed a research internship at Microsoft Research and a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvard University. Dr. Ryu's research focuses on terrestrial carbon cycles, integrating measurements, theory, and modeling across scales from leaf to globe. He serves as an editor for Remote Sensing of Environment and Global Change Biology. His lab is driven by the vision of "a sustainable world where ecological information is available and accessible to anyone."
